Overview

The Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs (OWCP), Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation (DEEOIC) and the National Institute for Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH), invite you to a webinar to learn about cancer claims and the role of NIOSH under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA). The webinar will culminate with a dedicated Q&A session, where audience questions will be addressed. Feel free to submit questions prior to the webinar at the email below or participate in the live Q&A during the webinar.

  • Eligibility for cancer under Parts B and E of the EEOICPA
  • NIOSH referral process
  • Dose reconstructions & Probability of Causation
  • Special Exposure Cohort (SEC) petitions

The Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act provides lump-sum compensation and medical benefits to current and former nuclear weapons workers whose illness is a result of working in the nuclear weapons industry. Survivors of qualified workers may also be entitled to benefits. Covered illnesses include radiation-induced cancer, chronic beryllium disease, beryllium sensitivity, chronic silicosis, or any illness due to exposure to toxic substances.
