ETA Workforce Convening: Vision 2030

ETA Workforce Regional Convenings: Vision 2030 –
Expanding Access to Quality Jobs and Ensuring Job Equity

Overview

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration (ETA) is hosting three regional workforce convenings to advance the ETA Vision 2030. They will bring together stakeholders from various sectors, including public, private, education, labor, nonprofit organizations, employers, and industries. The goal is to break down silos and foster collaboration across the entire workforce ecosystem, ensuring the creation of a new economy that benefits all Americans.

Addressing the needs of our economy requires the active participation of everyone involved. The Convenings will showcase promising and innovative practices that inspire participants within the public workforce system, and engage key stakeholders from the broader workforce ecosystem.

The convenings will focus on the following objectives:

  • Creating a national dialogue around the ETA Vision 2030 and Yes WIOA Can! themes, and engaging all workforce stakeholders in advancing priorities for the future of our workforce system.
  • Fostering partnerships around shared priorities and expanding collaboration across the diverse and expanding workforce field to address present and future workforce needs.
  • Scaling successful practices by providing a platform for resetting, reengaging, and facilitating exchange among federal, state, and local entities and critical public-private partners.

The convenings will leverage active engagement, including dedicated time for discussions with regional and program leaders, and networking. Breakout sessions will highlight promising practices, while facilitated state planning sessions for state and local workforce administrators will focus on implementation strategies, and active workshops for all stakeholders will encourage dialogue and focus on application of promising practices.

It will take everyone to do this work – that’s why attendees will include representatives from state and local workforce boards, education and training providers, state workforce agencies, community colleges, employers, unions, industry associations, training intermediaries, philanthropy, community-based organizations, academic researchers, and federal and other government partners.
